​​In the Shadow of Longs Peak

​In 1985, newly divorced, I loaded my daughter into our car  and drove south on I-25 to Colorado from Cheyenne, Wyoming.  Our destination was the Denver Zoo, and our plan was to drive a scenic route thru Longmont and Lyons, up the South St. Vrain Canyon, then CO 72 to Nederland and down Boulder Canyon . 

We got off at the exit for Hwy 66 and I was taken with the view of Longs Peak and Mt. Meeker.  From that moment, I knew I had to live here!  It would be less than a year later that I would move here and began a job in Longmont, one more exit to the south.
